Reading Horror Movies

Polysemy: Media texts open to any multiple readings. Horrors are often deliberately ambiguous. e.g. Shining Reading horror movies is just interpreting the movie in different ways to your understanding. Roland Barthes ( Death of the author):  In his essay, Barthes argues against the method of reading and criticism that relies on aspects of the author's identity—their political views, historical context, religion, ethnicity, psychology, or other biographical or personal attributes—to distill meaning from the author's work.   SUB GENRE:COMEDY  HORROR For a mini research project I was given the task of watching a film that is compatible to a specific sub genre of horror that I was given at random, the genre I was given was comedy horror. However, unlike other slasher films inspired by it, the characters in the film are well developed and re

Beyond the focus on the relationship, the biggest defining characteristic of the romance genre is that a happy ending is always guarantee
